This is going to be a great year for Gage Park! This June, Gage Park High School received word that their application to become a Diplomas Now School was accepted. Diplomas Now is a cooperative between multiple organizations with proven success in terms of increasing student achievement. The goal is to ensure that every student who enters Gage Park this year as a freshman will graduate in four years, not only with a diploma but also with the skills to succeed in college and career paths.
The program is being rolled out primarily to freshmen this year, but is a whole school model that will include multi-grade Career Academies beginning next year. This year, the freshmen will experience instructional supports from Talent Development, tutoring and other activities brought to them by City Year, social-emotional supports through Communities in Schools, introduction to post-secondary options via College Summit, and gain resiliency skills through Success Highways.
