Business owners receive free computers
Small business owners from the Chicago and West Lawn communities received their free computers Tuesday after completing a series of tech trainings.
This was the first computer for many owners, and is sponsored by the federally funded Smart Community Business Resource Network, which helps local firms find the right broadband services and applications for their needs and the best software, hardware, databases and other computer resources.
In order to receive the computers, all owners had to take computer training classes and work with the BRN manager to develop an action plan for improving their use of technology in the workspace.
The BRN manager in Chicago Lawn is Tina James of Greater Southwest Development Corporation.
More information about the BRN can be found here.
